At 205 proofs, the 1900 quarter eagle issue was the first of its denomination to exceed the 200 mark for pieces produced, with the next year's mintage of 223 examples the only other one to surpass that total in the Liberty series. This Deep Cameo specimen is outstandingly contrasted with stunning eye appeal. The yellow-gold mirrors turn nearly "black" at certain angles, bringing out the best of the cameo effect.
