Description
Appealing 1902 Quarter Eagle, PR58
1902 $2 1/2 PR58 PCGS. The 1902 Liberty Head quarter eagle in proof format saw a mintage of 193 pieces, roughly in line with quarter eagle proof production during this era. This briefly circulated specimen displays attractive variegated yellow-gold and peach coloration. Some cameo tendency, very unusual for this issue, is noted, especially on the reverse. The design elements are boldly impressed, befitting a proof strike. The few scattered marks in no way detract from the coin's overall appeal.(Registry values: P1)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 288S, PCGS# 7928, GSID# 8585)
