Description

1903 Quarter Eagle, PR63
Reflective Proof Finish

1903 $2 1/2 PR63 PCGS. Only 197 proof quarter eagles were struck in 1903, with about half that number surviving today in all grades. The Mint employed a brilliant, low-contrast finish for proof coins during this period, and the present coin is a typical example. Both fields and devices are highly reflective. The striking details are sharp throughout. Only a few handling marks in the obverse field prevent a higher grade. Population: 27 in 63, 60 finer (5/10).(Registry values: P1)

Metal: 90% Gold, 10% Copper
