Description
Gleaming PR64 1903 Quarter Eagle
1903 $2 1/2 PR64 NGC. This near-Gem specimen hails from the second year of the "brilliant era" in proof coinage, and while there is slight contrast between fields and devices, the latter still show a great deal of the reflectivity shown by the former. The piece is sharply detailed with pale yellow interiors and a deeper sun-yellow shade toward the rims. Minor hairlines have little effect on the appeal, at least to the unaided eye, but go a long way toward determining the grade. Census: 27 in 64, 25 finer (2/12).(Registry values: P1)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 288T, PCGS# 7929, GSID# 8588)
Metal: 90% Gold, 10% Copper
Weight: 4.18 grams
