Description

1903 Two and a Half Dollar, PR64
Deeply Reflective Fields

1903 $2 1/2 PR64 PCGS. Garrett and Guth explain that more than 100 of these 1903 proof quarter eagles are known to exist, but few of them display Cameo or Deep Cameo contrast. To that point, there is a just single PR65 Cameo coin at PCGS. That is because the Mint switched to a brilliant finish for proof coinage in 1902. This yellow-gold example has deeply reflective fields that draw the eye of the viewer. They produce moderate contrast against the devices, although not enough to earn a formal designation.(Registry values: P1)
