Cameo 1904 Quarter Eagle, PR66
1904 $2 1/2 PR66 Cameo PCGS. It is generally believed that today some 55 proofs are extant out of the original mintage of 170 pieces. Struck at the end of the short period when no-contrast proofs were being produced in the Mint, this piece shows a significant amount of field-to-device contrast on each side. The surfaces are virtually flawless with only a couple of tiny planchet voids in the right reverse field.Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 288U, PCGS# 7930, GSID# 8591)
