1905 Quarter Eagle, PR62
Deeply Mirrored

1905 $2 1/2 JD-1, R.4, PR62 PCGS. This is an attractive, deeply reflective orange-gold proof that shows some contrast against between the faintly frosted motifs and surrounding mirrored fields. According to the Dannreuther reference, 144 1905 proof quarter eagles were struck and 80 to 110 examples survive in all proof grades. This coin is housed in an Generation 3.1 green label holder that does not recognize cameo characteristics. A few light field marks account for the PR62 designation.
