Description

1905 $2 1/2 PR58 PCGS. CAC. An exactingly struck specimen that possesses orange and lemon tinged luster near design elements. The devices show no evidence of friction, but the open fields are subdued from brief non-numismatic handling. Proof gold coins were often spent by heirs or cash-crunched owners, since in many cases such pieces commanded little premium over face until after the FDR gold recall. A stingy 144 proofs were struck.(Registry values: P1)
