Seldom Offered Choice Proof 1905 Quarter Eagle
1905 $2 1/2 PR64 PCGS. Although 144 proofs were produced of this issue, the 1905 has shown up surprisingly few times in our auctions over the past ten years. Of those eight appearances since 1991, only two have been graded PR64, and one was a PR66. This piece is intricately detailed, as only a proof can be, and the non-contrasting surfaces display rich orange-gold coloration with no mentionable contact marks.Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 288V, PCGS# 7931, GSID# 8594)
