Description

Pleasing 1906 Proof Quarter Eagle

1906 $2 1/2 PR 64 PCGS. There were 160 proof quarter eagles struck in 1906, but of that number it is estimated that today only 65 pieces remain in all grades. A few hairlines are visible in the fields when the coin is examined with a magnifier, however, it presents as much finer when viewed with the unaided eye. Deeply mirrored, the devices display a thin veil of mint frost with a modest cameo contrast evident on the reverse.
