Description
1907 Quarter Eagle, PR67
Extraordinary Final-Year Type Coin
1907 $2 1/2 PR67 NGC. CAC. The Liberty design was retired
after 1907, making this date extremely important for type purposes.
Only 154 proof quarter eagles were struck in 1907, and few
survivors can match the appeal of the coin offered here. This
spectacular Superb Gem displays vivid greenish-gold surfaces, with
deeply mirrored fields and a few accents of lilac. The obverse
exhibits razor-sharp definition on all design elements, while the
reverse shows just the slightest touch of softness on the eagle's
right claw. Close inspection reveals no mentionable distractions
and visual appeal is outstanding. Census: 1 in 67, 1 finer
(8/12).From The Nottingham Collection.(Registry values: P1)
