Description
Proof 64 Red PCGS 1909 V.D.B. Cent
1909 VDB PR 64 Red PCGS. A satiny matte-proof issue from the first year of the Lincoln cent series, one of 1,194 proofs struck of the date with the designer's initials V.D.B. on the reverse; these were removed from the dies later in the year, thus creating another variety. Fiery orange-red color and satiny surfaces create a pleasing effect on this lovely coin, and a splash of pale olive patina adds to the overall charm. A tiny spot is noted near the second 9 of the date, otherwise the surfaces of the coin are pristine in every way.Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 22KR, PCGS# 3302, GSID# 2472)
