Description

1915 Lincoln Cent, PR66+ Brown
Impressively Toned Matte Finish, CAC

1915 1C PR66+ Brown PCGS. CAC. The debut of the Lincoln cent in 1909 featured proof sets minted in matte finishes in lieu of the typical glossy surfaces. This example is a conditionally scarce Plus-graded Premium Gem Brown that is sharply struck on well-preserved surfaces. The underlying patina of chestnut-brown releases iridescent tones of lavender, emerald, and cerulean-blue for a mesmerizing cartwheel effect. PCGS shows only 11 finer examples in Brown (11/25).
