Description
Gem Matte Proof 1916 Cent
1916 1C PR65 Brown NGC. Although the 1909 VDB cent is the key date of the matte proof series, the 1916 has a lower mintage. The Guide Book states just 600 proofs were struck. The present fully struck Gem displays the dramatic toning characteristic of proof cents of the era. Ruby-red and jade-green alternate across both sides. Devoid of detectable carbon or contact.(Registry values: N1793)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 22KZ, PCGS# 3324, Greysheet# 2494)
