Rare Matte Proof Issue
1916 1C PR65 Brown PCGS. Other than the 1909 VDB, the 1916
is the rarest matte proof issue and more challenging than implied
by its mintage of 1,050 pieces. The present needle-sharp Gem is
void of contact and displays only microscopic carbon. Although
designated as Brown, the surfaces retain substantial mahogany-red
