Gem 1936 Type One Proof Cent

1936 1C Type One--Satin Finish PR65 Red PCGS. Two distinct types of proof cents and nickels were coined in 1936, known as Satin and Brilliant proofs. The Satin proofs are reminiscent of the matte proof pieces coined two decades earlier. Some additional proofs seem to by hybrid issues, such as this piece, with characteristics of both styles. Brilliant mint red surfaces are moderately reflective and accented by hints of lilac and gold toning.(Registry values: P1)
