1990 No S Cent, FS-101
PR69 Red Ultra Cameo
1990 1C No S, FS-101, PR69 Red Ultra Cameo NGC. Since 1968,
all proof cents have been struck at San Francisco. The S mintmark
is part of the master hub on recent date proofs, but in 1990,
mintmarks were added by hand to working dies. That step was
inadvertently omitted on one obverse proof die, and a few hundred
examples made it past the inspections into collector hands. These
are coveted today as keys to the Lincoln Memorial series. The
present virtually immaculate specimen lacks the verdigris sometimes
seen on the rims of examples long stored in their humid original
holders. Frosty motifs rise in full detail above glassy fields.From The Poulos Family Collection, Part II.
