Description

First-Year 1936 Mercury Dime, PR67

1936 10C PR67 NGC. The Mint resumed coinage of proof issues in 1936, with a small total of 4,130 proof Mercury dimes. The coins were well received, but it took a few years for demand to reach the levels attained by the proof coinage of earlier years. Examples at the Superb Proof level are decidedly scarce. The present example is a magnificent specimen with a razor-sharp strike, nice reflectivity, and light golden toning. Census: 81 in 67, 2 finer (10/09).(Registry values: N2998)
