Description

Pleasantly Toned 1942 Dime PR68 PCGS

1942 10C PR68 PCGS. Lovely lemon color illuminates the peripheries of this suitably struck, satiny, and pristine Superb Gem. Pearl-gray toning is also prominent. The final year of proof production for the type, since World War Two placed heavy burdens on the Mint. Growth of the domestic economy required larger mintages, and coins were also struck in quantity for numerous foreign countries. Population: 34 in 68, none finer (1/05).
