Lofty PR66 Cameo 1878 8 Tailfeathers Dollar
1878 8TF $1 PR66 Cameo NGC. VAM-14.8. This sharply defined Premium Gem has a luminous portrait and wreath that provide noticeable contrast with the darkly reflective fields. A small roundish strikethrough near the E in E PLURIBUS UNUM, a tiny spot near the T in UNITED, and a nearly imperceptible graze near obverse star 2 provide identifiers for pedigree researchers. Minor roller marks near the chin are of Mint origin, on the planchet prior to the strike. A difficult proof subtype, since just 500 pieces were struck.
