Scarce 1881 Morgan Dollar, PR64
1881 $1 PR64 NGC. From a small proof mintage of 975 pieces, the 1881 Morgan dollar is a scarce issue at the Choice Proof level. While not so designated, the present coin has many attributes of a Cameo specimen. The strongly impressed, frosty devices contrast dramatically with the reflective surfaces. Only a few hairlines and faint contact marks limit the grade. Census: 59 in 64, 69 finer (10/09).(Registry values: N2998)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 27Z5, PCGS# 7316, GSID# 7799)
