    Description

    Exceptional PR66 1881 Morgan Dollar

1881 $1 PR66 NGC. The 1881 is easily one of the best-produced proofs in the Morgan series. Survivors seem to be of consistently high quality, and contrasted examples are not uncommon. This piece has remarkably deep mirrors and slight mint frost is seen over the devices, giving the coin a moderate cameo contrast. The coin is mostly brilliant, but there is just a hint of pale golden toning around the margins on each side. Census: 25 in 66, 18 finer (2/09).(Registry values: N2998)

    Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 27Z5, PCGS# 7316)

    Weight: 26.73 grams

    Metal: 90% Silver, 10% Copper
