Challenging 1881 PR66 Dollar
1881 $1 PR66 NGC. The proof dollars of 1881 (984 mintage) are obtainable without to much difficulty through near-Gem. Gems and Premium Gems are more challenging and higher-grade coins are elusive. Hints of gold-tan color cling to the margins of this PR66 offering and a decisive strike sharpens the design features. The latter are nicely highlighted by the mirrored fields.
