Impressively Toned PR66 1881 Morgan Dollar
1881 $1 PR66 NGC. Collectors recognize the 1881 proof Morgan as one of the best produced dates among earlier issues in this popular series. This is certainly an impressive piece. While not immediately showing the bright, contrasting surfaces often seen, this example displays vivid golden-rose and sea-green colors that are backlit by the mirrored finish in the fields. An interesting slash of lilac color dips through the ES in STATES on the upper reverse. As one would expect, the surfaces lack any noticeable contact marks, and the striking definition is fully brought up on each side.(Registry values: N2998)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 27Z5, PCGS# 7316, GSID# 7799)
