Description
1883 Morgan Dollar, PR66+ Cameo
Contrasting White Centers and Deep Mirrors
1883 $1 PR66+ Cameo PCGS. A strong cameo of the portrait,
eagle, and letters are set against magnificent deep mirrors, making
this a memorable proof dollar. Virtual perfection is evident in all
the important aspects: quality of strike, contrasting frosted
devices, and deeply reflective fields. A touch of clear rose-gold
at the rims and on the eagle's breast accentuates the pristine
silver-white appeal, but the overall impression of this coin is
brilliant.A total of 1,039 proofs were made for the year. Of these, only a few remain in this state of high preservation since, at one time, it was customary to clean proofs to maintain their brilliance. This coin escaped untouched. Population: 13 in 66 (3 in 66+) Cameo, 2 finer (3/19).
