Description
Attractive 1885 Morgan Dollar, PR64
1885 $1 PR64 PCGS. The proof mintage of 1885 Morgan dollars was 930 pieces, of which there are an estimated 300 survivors. A pleasing mid-1880s example of one of the most popular collector series today, this specimen displays a strong strike, though a bit of softness is noted in the central reverse. There are a couple of toning spots and contact marks, including a stray lint impression to the right of Liberty, but none is detracting. Both sides show light golden toning, with a few areas of darker rose and gray along the rims. PCGS has graded just 30 pieces finer (8/08).
