Description

1888 Morgan Dollar, PR66 Cameo
A Great Rarity This Fine

1888 $1 PR66 Cameo PCGS. Cameo examples of the 1888 proof are a distinct minority within the known population and are seldom offered above the PR64 grade. They are especially rare at the PR66 level. This piece exhibits well-struck surfaces, with notable contrast between the fields and devices. The fields are beautifully mirrored, while the devices are softly frosted, contributing to the coin's strong visual and technical aesthetics. The coin is free from distracting hairlines or marks. In the last decade, only one finer Cameo example has appeared in our auctions, and Cameos in the current grade are nearly as rare in their appearances. Population: 6 in 66 (1 in 66+) Cameo, 1 finer (3/24).(Registry values: N4719)
