    Description

    1892 Silver Dollar, PR65
    Vivid Multicolor Toning

1892 $1 PR65 NGC. The spike in proof dollar production in 1892 was a product of increased silver proof set sales brought about by the introduction of the new Barber type for the smaller denominations. As a result, the issue is fairly plentiful in the context of proof Morgan dollars, but is frequently found lacking terms of strike quality. This Gem example is moderately well-defined, with just a touch of softness on the hair over Liberty's ear. Deep hues of olive-gold, aquamarine, royal-blue, violet, and champagne encompass each side, with the colors somewhat more intense on the obverse. Substantial reflectivity shines through the patina.(Registry values: N2998)
