Description

1893 Morgan Dollar, PR65 Cameo
Frosty and Profoundly Contrasted

1893 $1 PR65 Cameo PCGS. Only 792 proof Morgan dollars were struck in 1893, and the issue was not one of the best-produced dates of the era. The dies were spaced too far apart in the press and many examples show flat and incomplete details on the centers of both sides. This impressive Gem exhibits a much better-than-average strike, with sharp definition on all devices. The deeply mirrored fields contrast boldly with the richly frosted design elements and overall eye appeal is outstanding. Population: 11 in 65 (2 in 65+) Cameo, 19 finer (12/25).(Registry values: N4719)
From The Smithlund Collection.
