Description

Prized PR67 Cameo 1894 Dollar

1894 $1 PR67 Cameo NGC. While the 1895 is the most prominent example of a business strike Morgan dollar's rarity influencing proof prices, it is hardly alone in that respect. The tiny mintage of only 110,000 Philadelphia business strikes in 1894 exerts constant extra pressure on attractive proof examples of that year. Here is particularly attractive specimen with excellent field-device contrast, brilliantly mirrored silver-white fields, considerable mint frost on the devices, and no appreciable patina. A boldly impressed representative of this highly elusive and desirable issue. Among Cameo examples, NGC has graded just eight numerically finer pieces (2/10).(Registry values: N4719)
