Description

Deeply Toned PR64 1898 Morgan Dollar

1898 $1 PR64 NGC. CAC. As knowledgeable collectors know, the 1898 is probably the best produced of all proofs in the Morgan series. This piece shows deep slate-blue, violet, and sea-green shadings when it is tilted under a light. The bright, mirror-like fields give the coin "life." Only a few faint hairlines appear beneath the toning. Census: 44 in 64, 69 finer (4/09).(Registry values: N2998)
