Conditionally Rare Proof
1898 $1 PR65 Ultra Cameo NGC. Regardless of date, any Gem
proof Morgan dollar is conditionally scarce -- a fact that some
examination of the combined population data of NGC and PCGS will
confirm. When combined with one of the top-quality series issues
such as the proof coins of 1896 or 1898, the result is a
conditional rarity that is also an aesthetic miracle, one of the
finest representatives of its series. This piece is certainly a
demonstration, displaying profoundly deep, mirrored fields
contrasting against thickly frosted devices on each side, with full
brilliance throughout. There are no obvious flaws, yielding a
technically and aesthetically pleasing coin. NGC Census: 14 in 65
