Description

1898 Silver Dollar, PR66+
CAC-Approved Deep Cameo
Stunning Strike Quality

1898 $1 PR66+ Deep Cameo PCGS. CAC. When the third party grading services started paying attention to cameo contrast many years back, the 1898 was one of the proof Morgan dollars most worthy of the Deep Cameo classification, as they were well made. Proofs were struck in February, March, June, September, and December, and were distributed via silver proof sets. High-end survivors are available with some patience, although they are notoriously rare in grades finer than the current piece. This Plus-designated proof boasts sharp definition and frosty mint luster, with deep mirrors and stark contrast. Eye appeal is outstanding. Population: 17 in 66 (3 in 66+) Deep Cameo, 25 finer. CAC: 2 in 66, 10 finer (6/25).(Registry values: N4719)
