Description

1898 Morgan Dollar, PR67 Deep Cameo
735 Pieces Struck, High-Quality Issue

1898 $1 PR67 Deep Cameo PCGS. From a tiny mintage of 735 pieces, the 1898 proof Morgan dollar is justly celebrated in the series for its high quality and eye appeal. The typical example displays a sharp strike and bold cameo contrast, prompting Michael Fuljenz to comment, "This year was probably the best made in the entire series."

The present coin is a magnificent Superb Gem, with deeply mirrored brilliant fields and razor-sharp definition on all design elements. The richly frosted devices provide dramatic contrast with the reflective fields and the black-on-white cameo flash is stunning when the coin is tilted in the light. Eye appeal is terrific.
