Description

Intriguing 1921 Zerbe Proof Morgan Dollar, PR65

1921 $1 Zerbe PR65 NGC. Due to a delay in the production of Peace dollars in 1921, various collectors, including Farran Zerbe, were perturbed. In appeasement, the Mint struck a small quantity of so-called "Zerbe proofs," coins with substantial mirrors that also show prominent die polishing lines. This sharply struck example shows hints of golden peripheral toning around essentially silver-white centers. Census: 10 in 65, 9 finer (4/09).
