1968 No S Dime, PR67 Cameo
Important Modern Rarity

1968 10C No S, FS-501, PR67 Cameo NGC. No S proof cents were coined only in 1990, but No S proof dimes were struck in five different years: 1968, 1970, 1975, and 1983. Just two No S 1975 dimes are known, one of which is in the present collection, but the 1968 No S is also regarded as a formidable rarity. It is ranked third in the Schechter-Garrett reference 100 Greatest U.S. Modern Coins. The present specimen is well struck with glassy fields and unabraded surfaces. Both sides show glimpses of powder-blue patina, and for pedigree purposes we note an aqua fleck on Roosevelt's nose. Census: 1 in 67 Cameo, 1 finer (7/19).
