Gem Proof 1843 Seated Dime
Only One Coin Certified Finer

1843 10C PR65 NGC. An unknown number of proof Seated Liberty dimes were produced in 1843, but experts agree no more than eight to 12 examples survive today in all grades. This impressive specimen is one of the finest survivors, exceeded in technical quality by only one piece known to either of the leading grading services (2/12).
The present coin is a delightful Gem, spectacularly toned in shades of champagne-gold and cobalt-blue. The fields are deeply reflective, underneath the toning, and show no mentionable distractions. The design elements exhibit razor-sharp definition throughout, and the diagnostic die chip is visible on the rim at 9 o'clock. This coin possesses terrific eye appeal. Census: 4 in 65, 1 finer (2/12).
