1856 Seated Dime, PR65
Elusive Proof Issue

1856 10C PR65 NGC. Struck two years before widespread proof distribution at the Philadelphia Mint, this 1856 dime had an unknown but limited mintage and low survival rate. Perhaps only 40 to 50 examples survive today. This lovely Gem exhibits pale lilac, gold, and blue toning over fully mirrored fields with a trace of contrast. Census: 3 in 65, 3 finer (10/13).
