Description

Rare Choice Proof 1856 Dime
Small Date Obverse

1856 10C Small Date PR64 NGC. The obverse is die doubled directly south with the doubling plainest among the lower skirt details and at LIBERTY and the shield. Fully struck and flashy with rich apricot-gold toning. The mintage of the proof 1856 is unknown but unquestionably very low. Third party populations have been skewed by repeated submissions; the present lot comes with nine inserts from prior encapsulations.
