Description

1857 Seated Dime, PR66
Beautiful Multicolor Toning

1857 10C PR66 PCGS Secure. CAC. Fortin-101, R.6. Ex: Simpson. The Mint did not record the exact number of proof dimes struck in 1857, though it is likely the total was around 70 pieces, as 30 to 50 are believed to still exist today. The certified population figures, totaling 75 coins in all grades, are obviously inflated by resubmissions. This Premium Gem representative displays razor-sharp devices set against moderately reflective fields. Beautiful shades of green-gold, ocean-blue, lavender-gray, and sun-gold toning limit the cameo contrast, but deliver substantial eye appeal in their own right. Population: 4 in 66, 1 finer (9/14).
