Lushly Toned Gem Proof 1858 Dime
1858 10C PR65 NGC. Dappled cobalt-blue, golden-brown, olive, and purple-red toning adorns the obverse. The reverse displays electric-blue and steel-gray patina. Sharply struck with reflective fields and well preserved surfaces overall, as expected for a Gem. The mintage figure for this issue is unknown, but the rarity of high grade survivors is certain. Census: 14 in 65, 12 finer (11/08).Ex: Long Beach Signature (Heritage, 2/2006), lot 765, which realized $3,450.(Registry values: N2998)
