Description

1858 Seated Dime, PR66
None Finer at PCGS

1858 10C PR66 PCGS. CAC. A glittering, reflective proof with a large amount of cameo contrast. Burnt-orange, peach, and lilac shades visit the vibrant silver surfaces. A full strike completes the Premium Gem appeal. 1858 was the first year of "official" public proof sales by the Mint. Although Breen estimated just 80 proofs issued and later estimates suggested 100 or so proofs, the current Guide Book lists the most recent research as 300+ proofs produced. Very few, however, are the equal of this gleaming example. Population: 4 in 66, 0 finer (9/14).(Registry values: N4719)
