Description

1859 Dime, Brilliant PR66+ Cameo
Final Year of the With Stars Type

1859 10C PR66+ Cameo PCGS. CAC. F-101, R.4. Stark field-to-device contrast is apparent on each side of this sharply struck, impressively preserved Premium Gem proof specimen that features both the PCGS Plus designation and CAC endorsement. The surfaces are free of contact marks, with only a few scattered, microscopic hairlines noted on either side and a thin strike-through lint mark at Liberty's head. This is an important date among type collectors, since the 1859 is the final proof issue in the Stars Obverse Seated dime series. Population: 7 in 66 (2 in 66+) Cameo, 3 finer. CAC: 5 in 66, 1 finer (1/18).
