1859 Dime, PR67 Cameo
Elusive With Stars Proof Dime
1859 10C PR67 Cameo NGC. Long overlooked as a type coin,
there are basically only two years available to collectors of the
With Stars design in proof format, 1858 and 1859. The fields are
deep and display watery reflectivity of unfathomable depth. The
devices show a moderate amount of mint frost, and when set against
the depth of mirrored flash in the fields gives the coin a pleasing
two-toned cameo effect. Generally brilliant, but there is just the
slightest hint of color on this splendidly preserved proof dime.
