1859 Seated Dime in Silver
Judd-233, PR65
Transitional 'Stateless' Design

1859 10C Transitional, Judd-233, Pollock-280, High R.6, PR65 PCGS. A transitional pattern that pairs the regular issue 1859 dime obverse with the regular issue reverse of 1860 to 1891. Since UNITED STATES OF AMERICA moved to the obverse on issued 1860 dimes, Judd-233 lacks that legend. Listed in the 2026 Guide Book on page 129 with the proof Seated dimes. Struck in silver with a reeded edge. A great example of this "coin without a country," appreciably reflective under a rich layer of dappled autumn-brown and aquamarine patina. Nicely struck and well preserved. Population: 5 in 65, 2 finer (6/25).
