Fantastic PR68 Cameo 1860 Dime

1860 10C PR68 Cameo NGC. Ex: Simpson. A simply magnificent specimen of this pre-Civil War proof Seated dime issue. Both sides offer undeniable contrast. While the frost over the devices is not thick or deep, it is all-covering and more than adequate for the coin's cameo effect, thanks to intense mirrors. A few small dots of faint milky toning add a hint of color to otherwise brilliant surfaces. Thanks to the impressive preservation, there are few distinct features that can act as pedigree markers; the most prominent is a small planchet flake that appears just above the left side of the bow in the wreath. Census: 4 in 68 Cameo, 0 finer (7/10).
