Description

1863 Seated Dime, PR65 Ultra Cameo
Rare, Low-Mintage Issue

1863 10C PR65 Ultra Cameo NGC. A single die pair was employed for proof and business strike dime production in 1863, coining 460 and 14,000 coins, respectively. This Gem is undeniably from the proof striking period, as evidenced by the profoundly deep mirroring in the fields and the heavily frosted, needle-sharp design elements. A thin veil of light champagne toning warms each side, and only a few faint hairlines are seen in the fields under magnified examination. An immensely appealing proof. Census: 2 in 65 Ultra Cameo, 6 finer (3/15).(Registry values: N1793)
