Description

1865 Dime, Toned PR66
Rare High-End Example

1865 10C PR66 PCGS. CAC. Fortin-102, R.4. Substantial die rust on the figure of Liberty is characteristic of this die pair, which was later employed for regular business strike coinage. As a date, the 1865 proof dime is not overly elusive in the context of the series, but is nonetheless scarce at the Gem grade level and rare any finer. This Premium Gem representative displays glassy mirroring in the fields with sharp definition on the relief elements. Teal and sea-green hues encompass each side, making this piece ideal for the toning enthusiast. Population: 6 in 66, 2 finer (10/14).(Registry values: N2998)
