Attractive Peripheral Toning
1872 10C PR67 Cameo PCGS. Fortin-103, R.3. This proof issue
is seldom seen with cameo contrast and is exceedingly rare with
such at the Superb Gem grade level. This piece is tied with just
one other for the finest graded at PCGS (10/14). Vivid aquamarine
and violet peripheral toning surrounds brilliant centers, while the
fully frosted devices impart excellent field-motif contrast. The
upper-left portion of the wreath is not fully defined, but the
