Description

1872 Dime, PR67 Cameo
Attractive Peripheral Toning

1872 10C PR67 Cameo PCGS. Fortin-103, R.3. This proof issue is seldom seen with cameo contrast and is exceedingly rare with such at the Superb Gem grade level. This piece is tied with just one other for the finest graded at PCGS (10/14). Vivid aquamarine and violet peripheral toning surrounds brilliant centers, while the fully frosted devices impart excellent field-motif contrast. The upper-left portion of the wreath is not fully defined, but the strike is otherwise sharp.(Registry values: N2998)
