1873 Arrows Dime, PR67 Cameo
None in Higher Numeric Grades

1873 10C Arrows PR67 Cameo NGC. On February 12, 1873, Congress passed legislation increasing the weight of silver coins, among other things. The weight of a dime increased from 2.49 grams to 2.5 grams. These later strikings (500 pieces) are distinguishable from the earlier proofs (600 specimens) by arrows that were added to each side of the date.

This Superb Gem With Arrows representative features remarkable cameo contrast between thickly frosted design elements and watery fields. The brilliant surfaces appear flawless to the unaided eye, and a loupe reveals no marks worthy of mention. Census: 3 in 67 Cameo (1 in 67 Cameo), 0 finer (7/14).(Registry values: P1)
